The first Juice Beauty Daily Essentials Collection was launches with a Cleanse-Treat-Moisturise regimen consisting of Juice Beauty's Cleansing Milk, Antioxidant Serum, GREEN APPLE™ Peel Full Strength, Hydrating Mist, and the Nutrient Moisturiser.
Juice Beauty is launched! All original product formulations were discarded and a new product development manager was hired to assist in developing new Juice Beauty products. Many laboratories were contacted, all of which turned down the opportunity to work with Juice Beauty as they did not want to formulate with organic botanical juices. Finally, Juice Beauty secured one laboratory that agreed to work with our innovative and new ideas as long as we would fund a freezer. Karen began her journey of developing the highest efficacy skincare products and building a multi-million dollar profitable company that was mission and values driven.
Karen purchases the trademark "Juice Beauty" from a group of people in Mill Valley, California that had a handful of natural products sold in a few dozen stores, total annual sales of £287,400.00 with debt and no profit. The name fit Karen's concept of utilising organic botanical juices. Prior to this, Karen and her husband researched how they could change basic beauty chemistry by formulating with organic botanical juices as opposed to water or petroleum glycol fillers thus the name Juice Beauty was a perfect fit.
The 1st State of the Evidence report was released by Breast Cancer Prevention Partners documenting the environmental aspects that contribute to various cancers. Juice Beauty's founder, Karen Behnke first read Breast Cancer Prevention Partners’ (BCPP) State of the Evidence before she started Juice Beauty. This science based research document became one of her guiding principles for formulating Juice Beauty products and helped lay the foundation for Karen to become a leader in the clean/green/organic beauty industry. Juice Beauty has partnered with Breast Cancer Prevention Partners’ since 2005 as we share being mission driven and have shared values. BCPP is a science-based advocacy organization that works to prevent breast cancer by eliminating exposure to toxic chemicals and radiation.
BCPP has brought to light the harmful effects of Teflon, Lead, endocrine disrupting synthetic fragrance, parabens, glyphosate, and many more potentially dangerous chemicals. Their tireless research and efforts have brought legislative law modifications to protect consumers and the planet, and have driven consumer behavior modification which ultimately has created major changes in the big consumer products companies.

During Karen's pregnancies, she became motivated to find highly efficacious beauty products that would be healthful for her and her unborn babies, and she started reading beauty product labels for the first time.
USA (Execu-Fit Health Programs) eventually purchased by PacifiCare/United Health Care and subsequently renamed PacifiCare Wellness Company. This company provided worksite wellness programs to multiple corporations and helped pioneer the wellness industry.
Army contract (former Presidio San Francisco base) to teach several fitness classes per day starting her wellness career. Karen pioneered the “warm up” before races in the San Francisco Bay Area starting with the American Heart Association May Day Races.
